This form of finance gives a low monthly payment due to the ‘Guaranteed Future Value (GFV)’ which is offset to the end of the contract. Contract Purchase is preferred typically by Non-VAT registered organisations.
Contract Purchase offers the option of all inclusive maintenance packages and relief vehicles to keep the work force mobile.
The vehicle appears as an asset in the accounts and a proportion of its value can be written down against profits. Interest payments are also allowable against tax.
Contract Purchase gives flexibility at the end of the agreed contract period. The company has the option to own the vehicle but with the security of a guaranteed future value should the vehicle be worth less than the anticipated value.
This means you have 3 options at the end of your agreement:
Option 1
Make the final payment and keep the vehicle.
Option 2
Part Exchange the vehicle, releasing any available equity to form a
deposit for your replacement vehicle.
Option 3
Return the vehicle without making the final payment.
